- Description
- The City of Baton Rouge and Parish of East Baton Rouge, and the Greater Baton Rouge Airport District desire to hire a qualified engineering firm to perform engineering design services to relocate existing thresholds on both ends of Runway 4L-22R. Runway 4L threshold is currently displaced 600 feet from the end of the runway. Runway 22R threshold is currently displaced 424 feet from the end of the runway. The overall intent of this project is to recover both sections of displaced runway surface by moving each threshold to the end of the runway. Threshold relocation work will include (not be limited to) existing lighting modifications, touchdown zone lights, touchdown RVR relocation, Runway 22R PAPI and 22R glide slope & shelter relocation. Selected Consultant/Team may be required to verify new approach surfaces meet FAA standards to accommodate threshold relocation to end of pavement. The selected Consultant/Team will be required to coordinate design & construction activity with the Runway 22R Approach End Category II Instrument Landing System project which will occur simultaneously.
